Day 3 - 5/25

Today was Memorial Day, and it was really nice to have another day for everyone to rest and recover from the trip before Chris goes back to work.

E.R. was much more cautious with me today. The only thing I could think of is that Chris was up with her this morning. So when I got up, she didn't seem to want much to do with me. But by mid-morning she seemed much better and was more like the day before.

We decided to get out and took the kids to a great park with a walking path and water. We were excited to use our double stroller for the first time. But E.R. screamed when we tried to put her in, so we ended up carrying her the whole time. J.T. slept in it for awhile, but then cried. So we ended up with both boys on scooters, Chris and I each carrying a little one, and one of us pushing an empty double jogger! Story of our life...

E.R. is eating better than I thought she would. So far she likes bread, peanut butter, bananas (but no other fruit we can find), KIX cereal, and breakfast burritos from Sonic (a drive-in we have here).

E.R. was up and crying through some of the night. I did my best to comfort her, and started to really feel that her ears might be hurting her. Chris was going back to work in the morning, but I knew we couldn't wait for her appt. with our pediatrician next week. That would have to be my plan for Tuesday.

Wow Carrie, how incredible your family journey has been! I just read all your posts about meeting your daughter and had tears in my eyes! You sure are a busy mom! I can't wait to hear more about how things are going. How did your husband like ET? Do you think you'll adopt again? Was he able to take any pics of the kids at Wanna? I can't wait to be in your position, welcoming our baby Mekonen home! Enjoy these sweet days with your new baby girl!
